Check a password

Password check is a free BaseLock tool that tells you whether a password has appeared in a known data breach. Type one you use somewhere else to find out.

It never leaves this device. Your browser hashes the password and sends only the first five characters of that hash. Those five characters match hundreds of different passwords, so they identify nothing. BaseLock never receives it, and neither does anyone else.

Never type a password into a page you did not navigate to yourself, and never send one to anybody by text or email, including to us. BaseLock will never ask you for a password: we sign you in by text message, so there is no BaseLock password to steal.
